FESTIVAL HISTORY

Mideast Film Festival Beirut, is headed by the Beirut Film Foundation established in 2003. From 1997 till 2002, the festival was organized by a private enterprise.
2004 is the 3rd edition of the Mid Eastern film competition.

Mideast Film Festival, Beirut is a member of FIAPF . Competitive in the Mid Eastern/Arab Feature Film, Short & documentary category.

The festival official competition covers: Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunis, Libya, Iran & Turkey.

The Aim of the Festival is to develop, support & platform young talent from Lebanon & the Mid East. And, to encourage co-production with the Arab and International community.

Programming. The Festival screens 35mm, 16mm films and Betacam. Competition for Mid Eastern/Arab Feature, Short & Documentary Films. Out of competition International feature films are screened. Tribute to a famous Film personality.
Question and Answer sessions are organized.

Venue. Screening of the films is held in one center of Circuit Empire. The opening and closing films at UNESCO Palace.

Guests. The Festival invites approximately 50 guests a year including, Directors, Producers, Actors, Festival Delegates and International Press

Financing. The Ministry of Culture, Sponsors, ticket sales & membership fees and donations.
